Ole mitten notes

I grafted the stitches when there were 14 stitches left.

Ole mittens and other stuff.

Cast on 14 stitches. Knit 60 rows. Bind off all but last stitch. Turn and pick up 29 stitches across length. Join in the round and knit one row. Knit 14, pm, kfb, kfb, pm, knit 14. Knit a row. Knit 14, kfb, k2, kfb, knit 14. K one row. Continue in pattern until there are 14 stitches between markers. Move thumb stitches to holder, continue knitting mitten in the round.

That's what I've got so far, anyway. I've got too many things in progress. I need to start finishing stuff. Henceforth, October will be known as The Month of Finishing Stuff.

Place markers at 15-8-30-8-15 (because I accidentally increased a couple of times before I realized I had put the markers in the wrong spot).

Here's how I started:

Prov cast on 64. Place marker after 32 stitches. K to 1 before marker, inc, sl marker, inc, K across. Next row: purl. Rep these two rows until 76 stitches. K until piece measures 7 inches.

"Cozy" is done

I decided to do "Cozy" instead of "Assuring":
It took about 10-12 balls of Wool Ease in Natural Heather.

Now I'm working on a couple of sweaters, and I still have a baby blanket to finish.

Next up

I am working on "Assuring" from the Big Book of Quick Knit Afghans for a wedding gift. I also ordered the yarn for another baby blanket, which will need a fun name. I don't know what the baby's name is going to be yet, so I'll have to make something up. The yarn cost on that one was $98.99, but it wasn't my $98.99 so I was happy to spend it.
